Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively low cost, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is simple to use and intuitive and lets you look at all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the newest version. This year's model has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This improves the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. You'll need to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. In addition the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike some other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can do both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. Highly recommended Online site , which is a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and could be a good method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app, or via buttons that can be found on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has many options to customize your cleaning routine. It also has a number of features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
